When we were preparing for the Chéng Light series, we met Zhan. The sun had just begun to rise, and the spring breeze in Dadaocheng carried a slight chill, blending the scent of aged wood and coffee in the air. She stood by the window doing makeup for the model—her hands steady like writing, gentle yet full of confidence.

Zhan isn’t the kind of makeup artist who tells you, “You need to look prettier.” Instead, she asks, “What do you think looks best on you?”
With a wealth of experience—from fashion magazines to film productions to bridal styling—what leaves the deepest impression is how she helps each person reconnect with a version of themselves they truly like.

She believes beauty isn’t about fitting a single standard or pleasing others. She once said, “It’s not about becoming what others find beautiful—it’s about discovering the look that suits you, and learning to love it.”
